Talking mindset through cancer with Siri Lindley

Siri is a world champion triathlete, a world champion triathlon coach and the co-founder of a non-profit horse rescue. Recently Siri completed treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia.

"If I was in a moment where I was feeling sad, afraid and scared and depressed, I knew that that was not going to help me heal.

So I would recognise that emotion, let myself feel that emotion for a moment, acknowledge it. But then I would bridge over to a more powerful emotion which was gratitude."

Talking Life Kitchen; food and cancer with Ryan Riley

Ryan is the co-founder of Life Kitchen.

Life Kitchen is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation that provides FREE cookery classes and recipes for people living with cancer, to help them rediscover their love of food.

We were honoured and very lucky to have Ryan as our guest, he is so passionate about food and the work he does with Life Kitchen is fantastic.

Listen to find out how Life Kitchen started with a drunken tweet and developed into something special.

Talking Moving Forwards after a Diagnosis with Lizzie&Juliet

Juliet Fitzpatrick, Rickmansworth Ambassador &Lizzie  Paddock, Nottingham Ambassador.

"I struggle with those that want to shut the door on it [cancer] altogether because even with having six monthly/yearly scans you're constantly reminded of it... it's never really over, it's always there and has such a big impact on your life and makes you re-evaluate things and changes your perspective."

An open & honest chat on the challenges & also the opportunities of moving forwards after a cancer diagnosis.

Talking our MOVE online programme with Sophie, Shaun& Helen

Helen Murray is our MOVE Cancer Rehab Specialist with Sophie Mulligan and Shaun Gibson who have both been through the MOVE online programme.

"Helen was just amazing, we placed emphasis on the things I could do rather than the things I wouldn't be able to do...and then we built up week by week. Helen was so accommodating and helped me overcome so many barriers."

It was great to hear how the MOVE programme has helped Sophie and Shaun, what brilliant young people! And what amazing work Helen does!

Talking swimming the channel on chemo with Jody Jones

Jody tells us her story about achieving her dream of swimming the channel despite facing the challenge of a cancer diagnosis and undergoing chemo.

"I just listened to my body...If I was too tired or not feeling up to it, I didn't swim and I sort of gradually built it up and I didn't swim more than four times a week before chemo and slowly built up the distances."

This really is well worth listening to, I think we could have chatted all night!

Thank you so much for joining us Jody.

"I decided I wanted to use my illness for the good of other people.. To spread awareness."

Sue took up running in her 70's after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer: "I feel fitter now than I ever have been, which is ridiculous! You've got to get back out there in the real world, get off your backside and move."

Two real life heroes.

Moving from a challenge to an opportunity with Gemma & Luke
